PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability by teeming molten metal of a rare-earth magnet alloy into a well from a nozzle which is located over the well and moves in the direction of a rotational axis in a mold, while rotating the mold with a circular dam formed as a partition by which two or more wells are formed on an inner surface of the mold for centrifugal casting. SOLUTION: An apparatus in combination with a vacuum induction melting furnace and a centrifugal casting apparatus comprises a mold 1, a moving tundish 2, a fixed tundish 3, a melting crucible 4, a dam 5 and two nozzles 7 and the mold 1 is driven and rotated with a rotation mechanism 6. A molten metal 41 is teemed into a well 10 from the melting crucible 4 through the fixed tundish 3 and the moving tundish 2 by the nozzles 7 and an ingot is produced. As the molten metal has been in the well 10 up to a prescribed thickness, the moving tundish 2 moves in sequence so that the nozzles 7 move to upper side of an adjacent well 10. An average molten-metal depositing rate is 0.1 cm/sec or more at the teeming. |
