PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To destroy passive state coating existing on a negative surface and furthermore increase substantial reacting surface area of the negative electrode. SOLUTION: LiMn2 O4 or a derivative thereof is mixed when at least one material selected from among a material group (LiC0 O2 , LiNiO2 , or a derivative thereof) is set to a positive electrode active material. The battery is assembled, and thereafter is discharged preliminarily, thereby destroying a passive state coating which exists on the negative electrode surface. Furthermore, a large number of picture is caused on the surface of the negative electrode by the preliminary discharge, so as to cause increase substantial reacting surface area of the negative electrode. |
