<p>A murine α and β murine myosin heavy chain (MyHC) promoter is used in gene transfer, gene therapy, and production of transgenics. In larger animals the promoter is expressed in only striated muscle. Therefore, the promoter can be used for efficient, high levels of expression of a gene of interest specifically in striated muscle tissue. This makes it perfect for use in gene therapy of muscle-related diseases such as Duschenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and even systemic diseases, particularly inflammatory diseases.</p> |
