The invention relates to an apparatus for conveying bulk material, the apparatus comprising a continuous conveyor means (1) for which a lower travel track (L) for conveying bulk material (M) and a return track (U) which moves above the lower track are defined by means of turning elements (2, 3); a feed area of the material to be conveyed at a first end of the apparatus, the first end comprising the forward end of the track (L) that conveys the material; a discharge area of the material to be conveyed at a second end of the apparatus, at which end the conveyor means (1) is directed from the lower track (L) to the return track (U); and means for levelling the material (M) that is conveyed by a part of the conveyor means (1) which moves on the lower track (L), the means thus being composed of the part of the conveyor means (1) which moves on the return track (U).
