PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily take out an optical fiber 101 from an optical fiber unit 100 without damaging the core 101a of the optical fiber. SOLUTION: This breakup device 10 which is capable of pulling out an optical fiber 101 from an optical fiber unit 100 which has a plurality of optical fibers 101 and covered with filling layers 104a and 104b being hardening resin layers, and this is provided with an insertion hole slightly larger than the outside diameter of the optical fiber unit 100, and a cutting edge 11 for cutting the cover layer 104b made at the outermost periphery of the optical fiber unit 100 is inserted in this insertion hole 5, thus only a cover layer 10b can be cut without damaging the optical core 101 by this cutting edge 11. |
