Compounds represented by formula (I) or salts thereof; and a medicinal composition containing any of the compounds, especially an estrogen receptor controlling agent and an osteoporosis remedy, wherein R<1> represents an optionally substituted aromatic group, hydroxyl, or alkoxy; X represents sulfur or oxygen (in this case, R<2> represents hydrogen) or X in cooperation with R<2> forms a group represented by the formula (A): N-R<8>-R<2>' (wherein R<8> represents methylene or carbonyl and R<2>' represent a direct bond of methylene); R<3> represents hydrogen, halogeno, hydroxy, alkoxy, acyloxy, an optionally substituted aromatic group, etc.; R<4> represents carbonyl or hydroxymethylene; R<5> represents alkylene; and R<6> and R<7> each represents alkyl or in cooperation represent alkylene.
