<p>An inlet valve (2) for controlling the flow of fluid includes a movable valve member (10) operable between an open position and a closed position, a first actuating member (16) movable under the influence of buoyancy to an intermediate position where the first actuating member (16) is pre-loaded or pre-tensioned for further movement to operate the movable valve member (10), and a second actuating member (34) pivotally movable between a contact position for inhibiting movement of the first actuating member (16) and a release position allowing movement of the first actuating member (16) to operate the movable valve member, wherein when the fluid reaches a pre-set level the second actuating member (34) triggers movement of the first actuating member (16) to close the inlet valve (2).</p> |
