The invention relates to a device for securing ceiling panels which are to be mounted overhead, having a panel carrier for receiving the ceiling panels, having a support which retains the panel carrier and exhibits an upper support part and a lower support part, the two support parts being mutually guided and being adjustable in order to change the height of the carrier support, and having a foot part which retains the carrier support. The object of the invention is to provide a mounting aid, by means of which the outlay in terms of time for bringing ceiling panels to the securing level and fixing them there is reduced. According to the invention, this object is achieved in that provision is made for a clamping device which can be actuated by pedals, via a linkage, and is intended for the mutual fixing of the upper support part and lower support part. <IMAGE>
