The OHV i.c. engine has the valves (11,12) mounted in guides (13,14) in the cylinder head (2). The latter is secured to the cylinder block (1) by clamping bolts (4,5) whose axes (19,20) are inclined to the normal of the gasket plane. The arrangement of the cylinder head bolts provides easier access to the valves and to the valve actuating mechanism. The bolts are thus arranged with their axes parallel to the axes of the valve guides. ADVANTAGE - Improved valve positioning.
