Braking and power transmission for vehicle wheels - involves planetary gear and fluid coupling

The differential drive is for a vehicle having a three memebr planetary gear transmission. One member of the transmission is connected to the drive, and the other two form the driven part, with a fluid coupling serving as a braking device. The fluid coupling (15) is steplessly controllable with respect to torque transmission in relation to the rotational speed difference, and a releasable dividing coupling (13) is arranged in series between the fluid coupling and the planteary gear transmission (5). USE/ADVANTAGE- Efficient distribution of power to the wheels of a road vehicle under all operating conditions as for example when traversing a tight curve.
