Toroidal piston IC engine - incorporates separate chamber for preparation of fuel-air mixture

The Torus piston engine has a piston (1) which can rotate one way only within the engine housing (2). It pref. uses a separate combustion chamber (4) to burn the fuel mix (hydrogen/air or oxygen mixture) without prior compression by spark-ignition. The gaseous mix is made ready in the upper part of the chamber (4), the bottom part containing a relatively cool air layer to screen the flame front of the ignited mix from the sealing strips in the housing (2). USE/ADVANTAGE - IC engines, vehicles or plant. Separate combustion chamber with spark ignition eliminates compression stroke using one-way torus piston in three-stroke mode.
