摘要 A porous metallic sintered body incorporated in a wound state in a cylindrical cell, used for a secondary cell electrode base produced by sintering a porous metallic layer formed on a metallic core, capable of being sintered at a relatively low temperature, excellent in adhesion and therefore free of separation and coming-off from the metallic core, and besides having a high porosity. A steel sheet is plated with nickel or with nickel and a low-melting point metal, a mixture of nickel powder and a powder of a low-melting point metal is applied to the plated steel sheet, the mixture is sintered at a temperature of the melting point of the low-melting point metal or above and below the melting point of nickel, thereby providing a secondary cell electrode comprising a steel sheet and a porous layer on the steel sheet. A secondary cell electrode base, a method of producing the same, an electrode and cell using them are also disclosed.
