The invention relates to a device for abstracting milk, comprising a funnel-shaped end piece (2.2) for placing on the mother's breast. Said end piece (2.2) turns into a cap section (2.4) for a receiving container, with a transition piece (2.3) in between. An insert (1) with a funnel-shaped elastic membrane (1.2) and a tubular inner section (1.3) which projects into the transition piece (2.3) is placed into the funnel-shaped end piece (2.2) and fixed on the outer edge (2.1) of the end piece (2.2) with a cuffed edge (1.1). When the device is not in operation and the insert (1) is not arranged against the force of elasticity, a gap is formed between the outside of the inner section (1.3) and the inside of the transition piece, said gap extending over the entire periphery. The inner section is guided in the transition piece (2.3) in such a way that it can move freely in a longitudinal direction and the elastic insert (1) is sealed all the way around on the outer edge of the end piece (2.2).
