The arrangement has a transducer with two spaced marked parts (13,15) connected to the shaft (10), which move with respect to each other when there is torsion in the shaft. The parts influence a detector (17), whose output processed to form a rectangular wave signal. A device computes the torque by determining the change in the ratio of the high or low pulse length to the overall pulse length, i.e. the duty cycle, compared to that of the unloaded shaft. |
