<p>A method of treating liquid waste and an apparatus therefor are provided. The method includes the steps of combining an active waste, characterized by high aerobic microbial activity, and a substrate waste characterized by high biological oxygen demand, and discharging the treated waste, such as to sewer. Additional steps suchas acidification and of the active waste to remove undesirable bacteria, anaerobic pre-treatment of the substrate waste, aeration and clarification of the liquid waste to assist waste treatment are also provided. The method provides a simple and effective treatment of liquid waste which reduces the cost of liquid waste disposal.</p> |
