WIRE ADHESION RUBBER PRODUCTS AND METHODS OF REDUCING COBALTADHESION PROMOTERS IN SUCH PRODUCTS

A wire adhesion composition is provided which preferably exhibits properties which are comparable or superior to conventional wire adhesion compositions which contain a cobalt adhesion promotor. The wire adhesion composition of the present invention employs at least one multi-phase aggregate and at least one elastomer, with a reduced amount of cobalt adhesion promoter or without use of cobalt adhesion promoter. A method of reducing the amount of cobalt adhesion promoter required in a wire adhesion composition is also provided.
