Polyether polyamines (I) with terminal aliphatic or aromatic amino gps. are prepd. by (1) reacting a polytetrahydrofuran (II) with a polyisocyanate (III), (2) hydrolysing prod. Pref. (II) has mol. wt. 500-3000, partic. 1700-2300. (III) is a di-isocyanate. USE/ADVANTAGE - Intermediates for polyurethane-polyurea moulding prods. (IV). EP application 89101384.9 describes prepn. of (IV) by reaction-injection moulding mixt. of (II) and polyether polyamine with a (III), addn. of (II) resulting in (IV) having improved cold flexibility without sacrificing good heat resistance; in present process, (I) are prepd. directly from (II) and (III).
