Fastening device between child and vehicle seats

The fastening element (5) on the vehicle seat is movable between a parked position and useful position. The movable part of the fastening element is formed as a locking slider (19) which when the child seat is fixed moves from the rest position into the locking position where it secures the fastening element in its useful position. The slider on moving into the locking position swivels a pawl (15) until this engages in a recess of the fastening element. A sensor (25) responding to the child seat deactivates the airbag of the vehicle seat on which the child seat is mounted.
