POURING NOZZLE FOR DISTRIBUTING LIQUID METAL IN MOLD AT CONTINUOUS CASTING OF SLABS

FIELD: manufacture of slabs with width of their narrow side equal to 30-300 mm. SUBSTANCE: pouring nozzle includes pouring tube having bottom, first portion with circular cross section and second portion with cross section flared downwards in such a way that it changes from circular practically until rectangular one. Pouring nozzle has two discharging openings on its end provided with distributing means having two chambers open from upwards and from downwards and restricted by lateral wall. The last is made as reflector and it is inclined relative to vertical line by angle 10-35 degrees. Surface area of bottom cross section is equal approximately to that of cross section of discharging opening of second portion of pouring tube. Flow of liquid metal at outlet of pouring tube is divided by two streams directed upwards and downwards. It provides sustaining of uniform temperature of liquid metal in mold, prevents penetration of inclusions into slab and scouring of solidified skin of slab. EFFECT: improved design. 17 cl, 8 dwg
