FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of medicinal biological preparations and can be used in preparing albumin from no utilizable inert albumin-containing fractions. Albumin is prepared from no utilizable albumin-containing precipitates by extraction of precipitates with water at pH 7.7-8.8 or sodium chloride in the presence of caprylate ions at the concentration 0.7-2.0% followed by separation of the protein mixture with ethyl alcohol at final concentration 8.0-17.0 vol. %. Then method involves centrifugation and albumin from centrifugate is concentrated by ultrafiltration. Then alcohol is removed by diafiltration and obtained solution is subjected for clearing sterilizing filtration. Electrophoretic purity of albumin is above 98%.
