FIELD: ophthalmology; applicable in a number of surgical interventions in cases of amotio retinae, diabetic angioretinopathy, senile macular openings, etc. SUBSTANCE: method includes preliminary application of smear of patients' own blood to surface of epiretinal membrane above vascularless part of retina; destruction of epiretinal membrane with the help of laser radiation, focusing of ray onto surface of membrane coated with a thin layer of patient blood; separation of free end of membrane and removal of it. EFFECT: reduced possibility of damage to underlying retina due to local destruction of epiretinal membrane in zone of coagulation by means of source of laser radiation.
