PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the backlash and surely attach a reel to a reel seat. SOLUTION: This mechanism for attaching a fishing rod of a reel for fishing has a leg 4 capable of attaching the rod of the reel for fishing and installed in a connecting part 5c of a reel bode in order to attach the reel to a reel seat provided in the fishing rod. The leg 4 is equipped with a body 20 of an attaching part and a pair of engaging parts 22. The body 20 of the attaching part is provided in a part for attaching the fishing rod in the connecting part 5c of the reel body. The pair of engaging parts 22 are arranged at both ends in the longitudinal direction of the body 20 of the attaching part and attached so as to free move in the longitudinal direction relatively to the body 20 of the attaching part and can be urged to both outer sides by a coil spring 24 and engaged with the reel seat.
