PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for kneading in order to uniformly disperse heat-resistant fibers and afford good fluidity in a heat-resistant fiber-containing monolithic refractory. SOLUTION: A refractory aggregate and a binder are initially kneaded with a prescribed amount of water to provide a slurry state. Heat-resistant fibers are then added to the resultant slurry. A surfactant having foaming properties is an anionic surfactant. The anionic surfactant in an amount of 0.01-10 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the amount of the added heat-resistant fibers is added at any time when the refractory aggregate and the binder are kneaded with water or the heat-resistant fibers are added or after the heat-resistant fibers are added. |
