PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain generation of a retainer sound by forming a retainer itself out of a damping alloy, in a retainer built in a rolling bearing. SOLUTION: Main bodies 4a, 4b and rivets 5 constituting the retainer 4 of a cylindrical roller bearing are formed out of a damping alloy. For the damping alloy, an iron-based damping alloy is general, and it can be appropriately used. For example, ferromagnetic type (hysteresis type) Fe-Cr-(Al, Mn or the like) alloy is used. In Fe-super low C-Cr-Si series damping alloy, tensile strength is high to be about 50 MPa, which is favorable in the viewpoint of mechanical strength. In such an Fe-based damping alloy, vibration from the outside is absorbed by movement of magnetic domain walls of ferrite (α-iron) to be a ferromagnetic body, and converted to thermal energy to be released, and this alloy functions to minimize the amplitude. |
