PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sponge cleaning unit high in cleaning efficiency and subject to no overload. SOLUTION: This sponge cleaning unit has a 1st roller group consisting of a number of rollers 52 respectively supported rotatably and arranged horizontally in a parallel fashion, a 2nd roller group consisting of rollers 51 standing against the rollers 51 thereunder, respectively supported rotatably and arranged horizontally in a parallel fashion, and rotating reversely to the 1st roller group, a driving motor subjecting both the roller groups to rotation, and a cleaning nozzle 100 for jetting cleaning water against sponges S traveling between the 1st and 2nd roller groups; wherein the respective rollers 51 are cylindrically molded and provided with a plenty of penetrating holes, and the cleaning nozzle 100 is designed to jet cleaning water against the underside of the sponges S being in horizontal movement. |
