PURPOSE:To reduce the leakage magnetic flux at a gap by interposing a compressable high permeability material within the gap of the magnetic circuit of a magnetostrictive actuator. CONSTITUTION:This is equipped with a magnetostrictive material 3 buit in a sealed body, an exciting coil, a bias magnet 7, a yoke, and a ram, which outputs the expansive and contractive motion of the magnetostrictive material 3 to the outside from the sealed body. And, this is constituted such that compressable (in powder shape) high permeability material (ferrite powder) is interposed in the gaps 31-33 and 51 and 71 of a magnetic circuit composed of the magnetostrictive material 3, the exciting coil, the bias magnet 7, and the yoke. Hereby, leakage magnetic flux from the gap part can be reduced. |
