<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable continuous treatment of gasification furnace dust by a method in which dust recovered from the exhaust gas of a gasification furnace is mixed with water and an oxidizing agent, the dust is subjected to hydrothermal oxidative decomposition, the carbon components are oxidized into carbon dioxide, and the reaction heat in the reactor is recovered as steam. SOLUTION: A filter 11 and a lock hopper 12 are arranged, dust and water are introduced into an agitator and agitated into dust-water slurry, the slurry is pressurized by a booster pump 2 and a supply pump 3, sent to a slurry preheater 4, and preheated, oxygen is introduced by an oxidizing agent introduction means 5, and a dust-water slurry-oxygen mixture is obtained. The obtained mixture is introduced a tubular hydrothermal oxidative decomposition reactor 6, and the dust is oxidized to obtain a hydrothermal oxidative decomposition finish mixture is obtained.
