PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain scattering of fuel injection amount in each cylinder. SOLUTION: When no fuel injection is made from each fuel injection valve 1 and no fuel supply is made from a fuel pump 5 to a common rail 3, based on variation in the pressure of common rail, the static return fuel amount flowing out from the common rail normally irrespective of the fuel infection operation of the valve 1 is computed. Then, according to the variation in the pressure of common rail at the time when the fuel injection operation is made so that no actual fuel injection may be caused in the valve 1, the dynamic return fuel amount being the fuel amount leaking following the fuel injection operation of valve 1 is computed. At the time of actual fuel injection, the total amount of the actual fuel injection amount and the return amount is calculated from the common rail pressure variation before and after the fuel injection then each return amount is subtracted from the total amount, and thereby the actual fuel injection amount is obtained. Scattering of fuel injection in each cylinder can be restrained by compensating a fuel injection command value so that the actual fuel injection amount may correspond with a target fuel injection amount. |
