PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a zinc-rich paint composition capable of improving mesh passage of powdery component and exhibiting excellent corrosion resistance, coating workability, adhesivity and crack resistance, useful for preventing the corrosion of marine structure, etc. SOLUTION: This zinc-rich paint composition comprises (A) a binder such as a (modified) polyalkyl silicate partial hydrolyzate or a mixture of it and an organic polymer compound (e.g. an epoxy resin or a polyamide resin) or the like, (B) preferably 45-95 wt.% of zinc powder as a main component and (C) preferably 0.5-50 wt.% in the whole mixed solid components of a whiskered calcium carbonate having 5-50μm major axis and >=4 aspect ratio (preferably treated with a silicone-based, carboxylic acid-based or sulfonic acid-based surface treating agent or a titanate-based coupling agent).
