1492635 Centre bearings RKS 27 March 1975 [22 May 1974] 13061/75 Heading B7L A slewing ring or centre bearing between a railway vehicle body and bogie, provides adjustable damping, the ring comprising annular parts 1, 2 connected respectively to the body and bogie and each comprising surfaces of revolution 6, 7, 12 and 8, 9, 11 respectively which between them define an annular rectangular cross-section space accommodating therein angular segments 10 of single or different friction material(s) having apertures therein in which are disposed horizontal axis rollers or balls. As shown the part 2 is formed of parts 3, 4 secured together by screws 5 and the part 3 and the surface 12 are provided with a sealing gasket 13. In another embodiment, the two parts of a crossed roller type slewing ring are provided with opposed concave conical surfaces and convex conical surfaces respectively and the segments of friction material are of square cross-section. |
