PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive type image forming material for suitably obtaining a lithographic printing plate having excellent image formability (sensitivity, developing latitude) by directly engraving by using an infrared laser or the like to directly engrave the plate. SOLUTION: The image forming material comprises (A) an infrared absorbent having an onium salt structure, (B) water insoluble and alkali aqueous solution soluble polymer binder, (C) an oxidizer having a reducing potential of -1.2 V (standard calomel electrode reference) or more, or (B) water insoluble and alkali developable polymer binder, and (D) an infrared absorbent having an onium salt structure having a reducing potential of -1.2 V (standard calomel electrode reference) or more. |
