PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide smooth braking operation by controlling sensitivity of a brake pedal to stabilize deceleration. SOLUTION: An electrically controlled brake system has a brake pressure generating device 6 for generating a brake pressure, a stroke sensor for detecting a pedal stroke, and a controller 10 for controlling the brake pressure according to a signal from the stroke sensor. The system is further provided with a pedal reaction device 4 for generating a pedal reaction according to the signal from the stroke sensor. By providing hysteresis between characteristics of the pedal reaction device 4 and characteristics of the brake pressure generating device 6, a brake force with respect to an operation amount of the pedal (pedal stroke or depression force to the pedal) is made to differ between an operating direction and a returning direction so as to have the hysteresis. |
