<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a twist tie using a plastic wire as a core wire, having good operability for attaching or detaching the twist tie and further not liable to cause the generation of corrosion and the injury of finger tip, etc., in comparison with an annealed steel wire, and to provide a method for producing the twist tie. SOLUTION: A plastic wire 1 is thermally treated, while being made to travel. The integral holding of the plastic wire 1 between films 5, 6 is carried out by their fusion by a pressing treatment accompanied with heating. The plastic wire 1 comprises a drawn polyethylene wire. While the drawn flexible plastic wire is allowed to travel between heaters, it is guided between pressing and heating rollers 4 for applying a load to it, simultaneously nipped between belt-type films consisting mainly of a plastic and guided between the heating rollers from the upper and lower sides, and further allowed to pass between press rollers 7 in a semi-product state wherein the plastic wire is fused and nipped between the films.</p> |
