PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the peroxide cure which improves resistance to heat and to compression set and causes little mold staining in a molding process by admixing a specific amount of an organic peroxide and a triallyl isocyanurate copolymer with an elastomer. SOLUTION: A rubber composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of an elastomer, 0.1-10 pts.wt. of an organic peroxide and 0.1-10 pts.wt. of a triallyl isocyanurate copolymer. There is no limitation on the elastomer to be employed, and natural or synthetic rubbers can be used. As the organic peroxides, there can be mentioned, for example, 1,1-di-tert-butylperoxy-3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexane or the like. The triallyl isocyanurate copolymer preferably has a number average mol.wt. of 600-40,000 and an iodine number of 50-250. The rubber composition is prepared by mixing these ingredients in a Banbury mixer or the like. |
