PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely travel by reserving automatic departure when detecting an obstacle at a short distance within a specific distance from one's own car in the front or on the side of one's own car even if a preceding car departs. SOLUTION: When an obstacle is detected in a distance measuring area A, or when an obstacle is detected in a distance measuring area B and the obstacle is not a stopping object, automatic departure is judged as impossible, the automatic departure is set and reserved in a prohibiting state. A driver is urged to switch the automatic departure to manual departure of the driver by an announcement to an annunciator. Even when the obstacle is not detected in the distance measuring areas A, B being a short distance within a specific distance, a judgment is made on whether or not the obstacle is detected in a distance measuring area C being a medium distance within a specific distance exceeding this short distance. In the obstacle judging part, when the obstacle is detected in the distance measuring area C, the moving direction and a moving speed are estimated from a positional change in the obstacle to judge whether or not there is the possibility of entering the distance measuring areas A, B. |
