<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relax the conditions of a component restriction, pretreating restriction, heat source restriction, or the like, and to obtain the efficient recycle treatment of a large quantity of iron-base dust by using a molten iron storing vessel having a channel induction heating device. SOLUTION: Powdery or granular carbonaceous material and iron-base dust are simultaneously blown into molten iron 3 nearly saturated with carbon stored in a molten iron storing vessel 1 provided with a channel induction heating device 2, and smelting reduction of the dust is executed by induction-heating while maintaining the carbon concn. in the molten iron 3 to a high level. As the carbonaceous material, coke or coal can be used, and as the iron-base dust, the dust generated in a converter, electric furnace, or the like, and powdery iron ore can be used. As carrier gas for blowing the carbonaceous material and the dust, an inert gas is used. The dust in exhaust gas generated by the smelting reduction of the dust is removed with a dry type dust collecting device 19 via an exhaust gas duct 18.
