Stabilized compositions of nithiazine which are suitable for long term use in an agricultural application. The compositions typically contain nithiazine, a hydroxyalkyl-tert-amine and an antioxidant. Suitable hydroxyalkyl-tert-amines include, for example, triethanolamine, 4-(2-hydroxyethyl)morpholine, N-(2-hydroxyethyl)pyrrolidine, ETHOMEEN S12 TM , ETHOMEEN C12 TM and ETHOMEEN T12 TM . Suitable antioxidants include, for example, TENOX GT-2 TM (a mixture of 70% tocopherols) and alkyl gallates.
