PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatize setting of adjusting conditions and contrive to improve an adjusting accuracy by a method wherein the adjusting value at printing is obtained by executing a plurality of times of a pattern forming process, a measuring process and an adjusting value acquistition process under every different positioning accuracy. SOLUTION: A plurality of patterns, which respective optical characteristics corresponding to a plurality of amounts of deviations of relative printing positions between a first print, which is forward scanned so as to form white dots on a printing medium, and a second print, which is backward scanned so as to form hatched dots on the printing medium, are formed on a printhead 1. Then, the optical characteristics of these patterns are measured with a reflecting type optical sensor 30 so as to obtain the adjusting value of dot formating positional conditions between the first print and the second print by executing a plurality of times of the above-mentioned pattern forming process, measuring process and adjusting value acquisition process under every different positioning accuracy with a controller 100 on the basis of the optical characteristics of respective measured patterns. |
