PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an accompanying-rotation of a cooling fan at the time of starting of an engine by inwardly forming a torque transmitting portion of a fluid coupling on an inner periphery of a reservoir chamber. SOLUTION: A fluid coupling 1 is provided with a housing 4 supported to a driving shaft 2 by means of a bearing 3; an operation plate 8 separating the housing 4 to a reservoir chamber 5 and a operating chamber 6 and having a through hole 7 communicating both chambers 5, 6; a rotor 9 fixed to the driving shaft 2 in the operating chamber 5; a driven wheel 10 disposed in the operating chamber 5 at a state of opposing to the rotor 9 and mounted to the housing 4; a torque transmitting portion 11 provided between the rotor 9 and the driven wheel 10 and transmitting a rotation of the rotor 9 to the housing 4; and a valve mechanism 12 opening and closing the through hole 7 of the operation plate 8 according to an atmosphere temperature around the housing 4.
