PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitable control a step-motor type intake throttle valve in accordance with the engine condition, even in a state of the opening of the intake throttle valve not grasped, for instance, such as the initialization procedure is not executed, in controlling the step-motor type intake throttle valve. SOLUTION: An intake throttle valve 4 arranged in the intake passage 2 of a diesel engine 1 and open/close driven by a step motor 40 is provided with a full-open switch 39 with on-off condition changed over when the valve positions the full-open position. An electric control device 19 carries out the initialization procedure to take the correspondence between the actual opening of the intake throttle valve 4 grasped by the full-open switch 39 and the control opening grasped from the step position of the step motor 40. An electric control device 19 restricts the operating quantity of the intake throttle valve 4 to the quantity from the full-open position to the full-close position during upto the completion of initialization procedure, so that the intake throttle valve 4 is forcibly driven to a siding position in accordance with the engine condition. |
