PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbonization apparatus which can reduce the temp. of exhaust gas though it is of a simple construction. SOLUTION: In a method wherein a waste 9 charged into a carbonization chamber 3 is heated with a primary burner 4 of a primary combustion chamber 5 to cause an unburned gas to be generated from the waste 9 and the generated gas is led to a secondary combustion chamber 6 to be burned with a secondary burner 10, the combustion gas from the secondary chamber 6 and the combustion gas from the primary combustion chamber 5 are caused to pass through a heat exchanger 15, installed in an exhaust gas passage 8, to reduce the temp. of the exhaust gas and then discharged into the atmosphere. |
