<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make clogging hard to generate, to facilitate maintenance in the case of clogging and to set the max. passing flow velocity larger than conventional one. SOLUTION: A carrier separating screen 6 is disposed in the water in the vicinity of the surface of the water in a treatment tank 1 having a swirling flow therein at an angle of 30 deg. or less with respect to the surface of the water. The screen 6 is a lattice or bar like one and the mesh size is set to 10-90% of the min. diameter of the carrier 5. Clogging is hard to generate by the washing effect of a swirling flow and, even if clogging is generated, the screen can be simply washed by a brush or the like.</p> |
