A vibration resistant threaded locking fastener which includes three zones of threads which extend along the length of the male threaded fastener. The first and third zones have standard thread forms for ease of assembly with the mating part and to meet the overall thread length specification for the fastener. The intermediate zone consists of a plurality of consecutive thread pitches with the crest of the threads deformed and flattened. The percentage of deformation is determined by the prevailing torque requirements of the fastener. |
