PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation for external use for skin, controlled in dis coloration characteristic of a preparation containing kojic acid and/or its derivative, improved in emulsification stability, and excellent in feeling when applied. SOLUTION: This preparation for external use for skin contains, as the effective ingredients, kojic acid and/or its derivative, and at least one type of ultraviolet absorber selected from the group consisting of N,N,N- trimethyl-4-(2-oxoboron-3-ylidenemethyl)aniliniummethyl sulfate; 2- phenylbenzimidazole-5-sulfonic acid and its potassium, sodium or triethanolamine salt; 3,3'-(1,4-phenylenedimethylidine) bis (7,7-dimethyl-2-oxo-bicyclo(2,2,1) heptane-1-methane-sulfonic acid and its salt; ethoxylated ethyl-4-aminozenzoate; isopentyl-4-methoxy-cinnamate (isomer mixture);α-(2-oxoboron-3-ylidene) toluene-4-sulfonic acid and its salt; and 4-isopropylbenzyl salicylate.
