<p>A description of a novel process for the preparation of 3,4-diaryl-5-isoxazolylacetic acid derivatives of the general formula (I) or of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in which R1, R2, R3 and R4 are identical or different and are each hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, halogen or trifluoromethyl, where "lower" indicates C1 to C4, Ar1 and Ar2 are identical or different and each are phenyl or naphthyl substituted by R1 and R2 or R3 and R4, characterized in that a compound of the general formula (II) in which R1, R2, R3, R4, Ar1 and Ar2 have the abovementioned meanings, is reacted with a 3,3-dialkoxyacrylic acid derivative of the general formula (III), in which R5 and R6 are identical or different and are each a lower alkyl group with C1 to C4, and R7 is a protective group for the carboxyl group, for example a lower (C1-C4)alkyl, benzyl, nitrobenzyl or tert- butyl ester group, and the protective group is subsequently removed, resulting in a compound of the abovementioned general formula (I) which is converted where appropriate into a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. <IMAGE></p> |
