摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refractory for iron tapping hole in a blast furnace, by which such problems as low chemical erosion resistance against molten iron and molten slag and low wear resistance at high temp. and many crazes and cracks developed in the conventional iron tapping hole are resolved, and a stable continuous iron tapping can be obtd. and the number of times of boring/plugging work of the iron tapping hole is reduced and the damaging degree thereof can be decreased by using the tapping hole under stable conditions. SOLUTION: In the refractory for forming the iron tapping hole 1 in the blast furnace, a cylindrical gap part 4 is formed along the iron tapping hole at a nearer position of a sleeve material inner layer part 3 of the iron tapping hole part toward the inner wall surface of the outer peripheral part of an iron tapping hole wall, and in the case of insufficient strength, arbitrary supports 5 are arranged in a gap, and in the gap part or in void parts on the structure in the sleeve material and in the gap part, a carbonaceous material containing volatile components is impregnated or inserted to be held. Since the stably continuous iron tapping can be obtd., the chance of the dirty boring/plugging work of the iron tapping hole is reduced and the damaged quantity of the iron tapping hole (total damaged quantity obtd. by adding eroded quantity and grooved abnormal damage quantity of the hole) is reduced and this iron tapping hole can be used in the stable condition.
