High temperature gas burner for glass industry has preheating system which raises temperature of air input

The system uses the hot exhaust gases from the main burner, together with a secondary supply of natural gas to preheat the main air input to the main burner. The preheater mixture is ignited (11) and burns around pipes (3) which channel air to the main burner. The air supply to the main burner reaches a temperature of 800 degrees Centigrade, thus allowing a much hotter flame from the main burner.
