The steering column lock consists of a primary part (18), which encases a bolt (16), and a secondary part (32), which encloses the bolt control element (24). The bolt is locked in its locked position by a locking finger (50), which slides, axially, within the primary part, driven by the spring (68) pressure. The finger is held in its retracted position by an elastic pin (60) which retains the locking finger in its retracted position.
