<p>A chemical composition for promoting health and well-being, relieving pain, or ameliorating disease including a first ingredient comprising a herbal medicinal substance and a second ingredient comprising one or more pharmaceutical drug coumpounds or mixtures of such compounds. A herbal medicinal substance may include any of various forms of non-refined or non-purified preparations known commonly as herbs, dried herbs, herbal extracts, and the like, and may be derived from whole plants, portions of plants, fungi, and micro-organisms. A pharmaceutical drug may be derived as a substantially purified chemical compound from a herbal, fungal, animal, or micro-organism source, or it may be a synthetic version of a naturally-occurring drug, or it may be a chemical compound which mimics the medicinal action of a naturally-occurring drug, or it may be a chemical compound, either naturally-occurring or synthetic, having its own medicinal properties which may be unrelated to those of any known herbal medicinal substance. Compositions in accordance with the invention may be administered to animals, and especially to human beings, by any known medical means, including but not limited to ingestion, injection, topical application, inhalation, suppository rectal or vaginal insertion, and smoking.</p> |
