<p>A novel process for producing essential oils from a plant body. More particularly, a plant body is treated with supercritical water or subcritical water to thereby liberate essential oil components contained in the plant body as ester-free essential oils and then the thus liberated essential oils are isolated and purified to thereby give essential oils within a short period of time by a convenient procedure.</p> |
